Juveniles’ Safety Education Into Campus

On the afternoon of October 24, organized by Youth League Committee of Hubei Province, Social and Legal Committee of the CPPCC in Hubei Province,Committee on the Protection of Juveniles in Hubei Province, Hubei Economics TV and Sunshine Life Group, “Juveniles’ Safety Education Into Campus” was held in The Primary School Attached to Central China Normal University (CCNU). About 50 students and 50 parents attended the lecture.

At the invitation of Self-Rescue Education Base of the Committee on the Protection of Juveniles in Hubei Province, Mr. Liu Xiaofeng, doctor of Tianyou Hospital Attached to Wuhan University of Science and Technology, made a lecture at our school about how to conduct self-rescue faced with a series of accidents. He said that the modern rescue idea is, to save life comes first, then to take care of the wounds. Through several pictures and videos, Mr. Liu made analysis of the common accidents, for instance, transportation knowledge, drowning, bandaging method of burning, CPR ( cardio-pulmonary resuscitation ) and so on.

Students and parents showed great interest in this activity. Mr. Liu taught the children many first aid skills step by step and conducted first aid drills. This greatly helped the students and parents get a good knowledge of first aid and apply what they had learned to real life. What’s more, Mr. Liu reminded the students to establish a scientific concept of self-rescue and help those in need.

At the end of the lecture, the volunteers from Sunshine Life Group gave a first-aid kit to every student and a “Manual on Emergency in Family” to every child. This lecture had a variety of forms, i.e. Q & A and first-aid drill. The students were very active in participating. One parent said that, “There are some security risks during the upbringing of the children, so it’s very necessary for them to master the knowledge of self-rescue. This is very meaningful!” Parents said they hoped the school could host more similar parenting education activities.

This activity was also the follow-up of the “Juveniles’ Safety Education Into Community” organized by Youth League Committee of Hubei Province, Committee on the Protection of Juveniles in Hubei Province and Sunshine Life Group. was held in The Primary School Attached to Central China Normal University (CCNU). In this way, the school, society and family worked together in building a Juveniles’ Safety Education system to ensure their sound and safe growth.
