Second Session of the Sixth Faculty Delegates’ Congress Held

Date: July, 17, 2014

On July, 14 and 15, the Second Session of the Sixth Faculty Delegates’ Congress in the Primary School Attached to Central China Normal University was held. 24 delegates all participated in the meeting. The leaders from CCNU also participated. They are Mr. Zhou, Mr. Yao, both the chairman of the labor union of CCNU, and Mr. Cao, the director of the office of teaching affairs of CCNU. They affirmed the achievements our school had made in the past years, explained the meaning of the meeting and gave some suggestions for the future development.

The meeting mainly centered on the discussions of four issues, that is, firstly, specific measures on “Sunshine Education”, the amendment to “Examination of Teachers in the Period of Appointment in the Primary School Attached to CCNU”, then, the amendment to “Plan on the Structure of the Wage Distribution Within the Primary School Attached to CCNU”, and the amendment to the use of retired teachers’ welfare.

The meeting lasted for a day and a half. In the first place, the delegates gathered together listening to the concrete plans of various topics, and then they had group discussions over every topic and the proposal from every delegate. Having finished the group discussions, the delegates gather together again. Every group were asked to report the opinions they’ve discussed. The delegates brainstormed a number of suggestions from different aspects and angles to the four issues mentioned above. School leaders listened carefully to the various speeches of the groups and carried out a detailed record. On the morning of July, 15, holding an executive council on the opinions they’d collected yesterday, the school administrators formed a consensus on the four issues and the views of the group proposals. After that, the plenary meeting was held. The chairman of the labor union announced resolutions of the Second Session of the Sixth Faculty Delegates’ Congress. All the representatives adopted the work plans and resolutions.

At last, Mr. Yao Xiaoming, the principle of the school, said that the representatives could fulfill the responsibilities and come up with reasonable suggestions. So generally speaking, the meeting was a full success. As for the four issues mentioned above, the solutions were as follow. Firstly, the educational philosophy “Sunshine Education” was adopted by consensus. In the next phase, the departments would focus on “Sunshine Education” issuing a series of specific rules and regulations so that the concept would be concrete, systematic and the distinctive brand of our school. Secondly, the amendment to “Examination of Teachers in the Period of Appointment in the Primary School Attached to CCNU” made the school management more standardized and humane, which would promote the professional development of teachers. Besides, the amendment to “Plan on the Structure of the Wage Distribution Within the Primary School Attached to CCNU” modified misallocation in the actual process and promoted the role of the distribution of leverage, that is, incenting the advanced teachers, awarding the diligent teachers and penalize those who didn’t fulfill the work. Lastly, on the requirements of the retired teachers, the school greatly increased the benefits of them, showing the school’s concern and sympathy. We hoped that they would have a sense of security, belonging, and happiness. This meeting brought vigor and life to the development of the school. With the joint efforts of all the representatives, the meeting was a complete success. The school would fasten the pace of reform to make a better and healthier development.
