On Supervising Teaching in Branch Schools

Date: April, 22, 2014

On April 22, the backbone teachers of the supervision group of the Primary School Attached to Central China Normal University (CCNU) were divided into two groups to supervise teaching in Wanke Golden City Primary School Attached to CCNU and Suizhou Primary School Attached to CCNU. Ms. Peng Jing and Ms. Dong Yan came to Wanke Golden City Primary School Attached to CCNU. Respectively they taught a third grade math and Chinese class, observed and listened to a third grade math and Chinese class taught by the teachers at their school, and then evaluated the classes. The teachers at Wanke Primary School were very enthusiastic and eager to learn. They listened carefully to our teachers’ demonstration lessons and evaluations, took notes and raised some questions. They said that they had learned a lot of teaching methods from the half-day high-density and high-intensity activity.

This semester, at the request of Central China Normal University Development Committee Office, a supervision group for training teachers from several primary schools attached to CCNU was set up. We have selected several Chinese, mathematics and English teachers to supervise teaching in Wanke Golden City Primary School Attached to CCNU and Suizhou Primary School Attached to CCNU. The teachers are Ms. Peng Jing, Ms. Du Zhaohui, Ms. Liu Chunyan, Ms. Zhang Min, Ms. Dong Yan, Wei Xiong, Ms. Zhang Qin. The supervision of teaching mainly includes the teachers in our school demonstrate a lesson, and then listen to a lesson taught by the teachers in their schools, and finally make a comment on the lesson. This is not an easy task, but the teachers of the supervision group work very hard. They are always carefully prepared in advance and share their experiences without reservation. Our school is just like a “mother” helping the “children” (branch schools) to grow. We sincerely hope that by carrying on the teaching philosophy and spirit of our school, we and the branch schools can make greater success in the future!
